Don't End Your Holiday Just Yet. You Enjoy the Mountains. We Build Your Home.

Building a home in a foreign country can feel daunting, but with ABEA Home, it is a completely frictionless experience. We act as your Total Contractor (Totalentreprenør), meaning you have one single, English-speaking point of contact throughout the entire project. From navigating Norwegian bureaucracy to the final interior touches, we handle everything.

The Journey Home: A Seamless Path to Your Norwegian Mountain Retreat

Here is our signature 6-step «Journey Home» process, designed to give international buyers absolute peace of mind:

Step 1: The Dream & The Plot

Your journey begins with finding the perfect location. Whether you want to secure a plot in one of our premium destination projects, like Nesfjellet or Norelia, or have another favorite Norwegian destination in mind, we help you find the ideal canvas. Once the plot is secured, we assess the local terrain and year-round sun conditions. This ensures that your chosen cabin model is perfectly integrated into the landscape, living up to our philosophy of being «in harmony with nature».

Step 2: Contracts, Bureaucracy & Your D-Number

We completely remove the language barrier and the bureaucratic stress. ABEA Home assumes full responsibility as the formal applicant for all municipal building permits (byggesøknad) with the local Norwegian authorities. Furthermore, we guide international buyers through the essential legalities, including the process of obtaining a Norwegian D-number (Identity number required for foreigners to formally own property, register with the tax authorities, and open a local bank account).

Step 3: Customization & Detailing

With the paperwork in motion, we move on to the fun part: tailoring the cabin to your lifestyle. We guide you through curated design choices and premium options. You can choose sustainable, low-maintenance cladding from Bergene Holm, opt for a traditional turf roof (torvtak), or upgrade to our exclusive «BlackPack».

Step 4: Controlled Indoor Production

While the heavy groundwork and foundations are being prepared on your mountain plot, the actual construction of your cabin takes place indoors. We manufacture all structural elements in our factory in Øvre Eiker, using locally sourced Norwegian timber. By building the elements indoors, we ensure precision and completely eliminate the risk of the materials being exposed to harsh weather, rain, or snow, guaranteeing a dry and healthy building structure.

Step 5: Rapid Assembly & Master Craftsmanship

Once the elements are ready, they are transported to the mountain and rapidly assembled on your plot. Because the elements are prefabricated, the building is closed and sealed against the mountain weather in a few days. From there, our team of dedicated carpenters take over to complete interior paneling, flooring, and finishing touches.

Step 6: The Turnkey Handover

The final step is the moment you have been waiting for. We conduct a rigorous quality check and ensure the cabin is professionally cleaned. Your new mountain home is delivered 100% Turnkey (Nøkkelferdig). There is no lingering construction work and no hassle—you simply turn the key, bring in your furniture, and start enjoying the majestic Norwegian mountains.
